Preparing for Your Audiometry Exam:

To prepare for this exam please do the following prior to appointment:

  • Get Adequate Rest: Ensure you get a good night’s sleep before the exam. Fatigue can affect your concentration and response during the test.

  • Avoid Loud Noise: Steer clear of exposure to loud noises for at least 16 to 24 hours before the exam. Loud noises can temporarily affect your hearing sensitivity.

  • Medication and Supplements: Inform your audiologist about any medications or supplements you’re taking, as some medications can affect hearing or test results.

  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water before the exam. Dehydration can affect your overall health and potentially influence the results.

  • Bring Necessary Information: Bring any previous audiometry test results, hearing aid records (if applicable), and a list of medications or medical conditions to discuss with your audiologist.
